Our WHY
It's about having a dream. To jump into it with a pioneering spirit. To go from having a new summer project to a success, shared with childhood friends from Fanø. And it's largely about friendships and working with something you believe in and are passionate about, while having fun - because that's how it is for us in Rindby Strand on Fanø.
At Lighthouse Burgers, we want to challenge and inspire the traditional fast food industry. We want to bring along the quality that we cherish on Fanø, as well as our unique history. Our goal is for people to be happy and inspired after they've met us. We want all of our guests to leave with a smile and a great feeling that embraces the energy and people around them. It's about daring to dream and pursuing your passion with people you love.
Our Journey
Lighthouse was started back in 2019, which was the starting point for our first business venture, but also the first joint project that was introduced to my closest friends with a passion for the restaurant industry. The plan couldn't fail, we needed a place to call our own and we wanted to do things our way. Something had to happen on Fanø - and it had to be good! The deal was that we wouldn't make mediocre food - we wanted to make great burgers with quality ingredients and organic Angus beef from Fanø, while the dressings and pickled vegetables had to be homemade.
The burger bar had to have good energy, be fast-paced, and have high spirits among the employees - and it had to be a sanctuary for our group of friends - a place where they could work together and have fun. The journey with The Burger Boys started as a summer project - but during the pandemic, we got busy, with long lines and phone calls for orders, and in 2021, our burger was nominated for Denmark's Best Burger - it all took off, and we realized that we had a very special project on our hands.
The energy, skills, and desire to create such a place on our small island must be shared, so that the rest of Denmark can feel what Fanø is really made of - enthusiasm, energy, and ambition with Lighthouse.
